Less than most hospices expect. Typical go-live is 30 days. The heavy lifting, EHR interface configuration, formulary setup, pharmacy network onboarding, is handled by our implementation team. Your staff doesn't need to become system administrators. The biggest variable is your organization's readiness and the complexity of your EHR interface, not ours.

No. MerlinRx is built around the local community pharmacy model. If you have pharmacy relationships you want to keep, we work with them. We also support national mail-order and specialty pharmacy providers for situations where local pharmacies can't meet a specific need, specialty medications, geographic gaps, 24-hour dispensing. Your patients keep the pharmacy relationships that matter to them.

We contract with pharmacies and pass those rates to you directly, without markup. The price on your invoice is the price the pharmacy is paid. There is no margin buried in the transaction, no spread between what you pay and what the pharmacy receives. Every line item is visible and auditable.

Rejection handling is built into the platform. Claims are tracked through the full lifecycle, submission, adjudication, rejection, and resubmission. When a rejection happens, it surfaces in the system with the reason, and the workflow for resolution is there. Your managers determine exceptions; routine adjudication runs without manual intervention at each step.

PA workflow is built directly into the platform, not managed in email or a separate system. Requests are tracked inside MerlinRx, pharmacies are notified automatically, and rejections surface with the information needed to resolve them. Your hospice managers review and determine the exceptions that genuinely need judgment. The rest moves on its own.

MerlinRx supports EHR interface configuration as part of implementation. We are also pursuing Epic Connection Hub listing, which provides a credentialed integration path for health system-employed hospice programs. Contact us about your specific EHR, compatibility varies and we will tell you directly what is possible rather than making a claim we can't back up.

Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances requires identity proofing and two-factor authentication for each prescriber, this is a DEA requirement, not specific to MerlinRx. The process is managed inside the platform. We walk prescribers through it during onboarding. EPCS is built into MerlinRx eRx natively, not added on.

We offer flexible contracting structures designed around how your organization operates. We are not interested in trapping clients, we earn the relationship by delivering outcomes. Before go-live we establish baseline performance metrics, and after we measure the same numbers. If MerlinRx is not producing what we described, the data will show it, and you have options.

It means a person answers, not a ticket queue, not an automated triage system. Support is staffed around the clock by people who understand hospice pharmacy. If something goes wrong at 2 AM with a controlled substance prescription, you are not waiting until business hours and explaining the problem to a generalist.

Before go-live, we work with your organization to establish baseline performance metrics that are specific to what matters most to you. After go-live, we measure against those same benchmarks. Monthly utilization summaries go to your managers automatically. The results are visible and documented. This is how we hold ourselves accountable, not just how we report to you.
